The fact that a beginner level class is asking me to buy professionnal grade watercolor materials just baffles me. Also makes me want to cancel because I thought I could just use my lame-but-totally-useable stuff I already have (you know, like the ad said) instead of spending a couple hundreds for stuff I'll barely use. But nope, teacher wants only the best.
YOU DO NOT NEED FANCY THINGS TO DRAW GOOD / ENJOY YOURSELF. You especially don't need the fancy stuff in a beginner class. You're just there for fun and/or keep yourself busy for one evening blaaargh
I'll probably just switch to the portrait classes since I already have some professional grade stuff to use for that one... which I bought several years ago for that one class* I took that one time (drawing from observation, which I suck at or so I've been told ahah)
* I distinctly remember the teacher telling use you NEVER EVER use mechanical pencils and cheapo paper to draw but watch me use only that all day every day ahah
