You can blame my recent lack of activity on ~
Plume-Rouge, who is FORCING ME TO PLAY DIABLO2. CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE HOW EVIL THAT IIIIIS?
Just some random stuff; when does a picture stop being "anime/manga" and starts being "cartoon"? There isn't really a clear line between the two, and they are basically the same thing; stylized characters. Personnally I use anime on DA because I'm following the rules I agreed to, but generally when speaking I'll say cartoon. AM I A BAD PERSON?
Because when I go to the end of the journal I forgot: I've seen
wars started on the topic. Is a word really that important? XD
SketchesThere won't be a limit to how many I'll give, but there also won't be a limit on how long it will take me to post them.
- One per person, nevermind if you name is below or not, or if you already got one.
- Give me a picture reference.
- One "character" each. That said, "character" can include just about anything.

"who said i can't play the martyr?"
Just kidding. It is anime, as vague as the definition might be. I suppose saying "cartoon" only makes it easier to understand for people in general :B

They're just descriptive and categorizing terms, give them a break.
From my understanding, manga and anime is just a new sub-category English-speakers started in the past decade using to describe originally Japanese popular stylized images. Manga is Japanese for comics, and anime came from France or something. I use them all interchangeably. Manga is still cartoons, although it looks more like "Pokemon" than it does "the Simpsons".
If people want to call my work anime, I let them. Manga, sure. Cartoons? Yeah that too. Personally, I find anime is a more popular term than manga so most people use it, although I don't do animation and prefer 'manga' to 'anime'. The only reason I don't prefer the term cartoon as much as manga is that I associate it with the style of Warner Bros and Disney, etc., which I don't do.
